Tips & Tricks

Speleo-TV delivers streaming media that is constantly received and presented to an end-user. With streaming, the client browser or plug-in can start displaying the video content before the entire file has been transmitted. This makes the watching experience as smooth as possible without the need to wait for the video to fully load.

Speleo-TV offers material from standard definition (SD) to high definition (HD) video playback providing the highest possible viewing experience. To achieve this goal, all videos are compressed via the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec (Advanced Video Coding) currently one of the most commonly used formats for the recording, compression, and distribution of high definition content.

The H.264 video format has a very broad application range that covers all forms of digital compressed video from low bit-rate Internet streaming applications to HDTV broadcast and Digital Cinema applications with nearly lossless coding. An additional goal that Speleo-TV achieves with the use of H.264 is the 50% or more bit rate saving, providing excellent video quality at substantially lower bit rates than previous standards (MPEG-2, H.263, MPEG-4 Part2).

Formats that Speleo-TV supports

Speleo-TV supports a number of different video and audio formats. Different codec’s have different features and varying quality and compression rate.

For best results, we recommend using H.264 (sometimes referred to as MP4).
