Under the earth’s surface, numerous caves keep, like a treasure, stone formations of great beauty. Physical and chemical laws, like the tools of a great sculptor, have given shape, over many thousands of years, to peculiar structures that receive the generic name of speleothems. Behind each one a particular genesis has taken place that has generated surprising geological anatomies of great beauty.
In the incomparable setting of the Cueva de Ardales, located in the province of Málaga (Southern Spain), the formation of a great diversity of speleothems is explained in close-up. At the same time, the importance of these caves and the need to protect them for the present and future enjoyment of their geological beauties are exposed.

Maravillas subterráneas Cueva de Ardales
Bajo la superficie terrestre, numerosas cuevas guardan, como un tesoro, formaciones pétreas de gran belleza. Leyes físicas y químicas, como herramientas de un gran escultor, han ido dando forma, a lo largo de muchos miles de años, a estructuras peculiares que reciben el nombre genérico de espeleotemas. Detrás de cada una ha tenido lugar una génesis particular que ha generado anatomías geológicas sorprendentes de gran belleza. En el marco incomparable de la Cueva de Ardales, situada en la provincia de Málaga (Sur de España), se va explicando, en primer plano, la formación de una gran diversidad de espeleotemas. Al mismo tiempo, se expone la importancia de estas cuevas y la necesidad de protegerlas para el disfrute, presente y futuro, de sus bellezas geológicas.
